The Amazing Race | However, the part of the race that I found amazing was watching the behavior of the boyfriend. He constantly ridiculed his girlfriend because she was slowing him down. He was losing the race! In his mind, he was involved in a competion to win a prize and all he could understand was the idea of trying to win. What he failed to recognize was that he had already won the prize! The prize was his girl! What prize could possibly be more valuable than having a girl that loved him? The only thing that should have concerned him was the happiness of his girl. He should have focussed on making the experience fun for her. Unfortunately for him, he didn't understand that. In his aggressive pursuit of trying to win the "Amazing Race" he mistreated his girlfriend and she subsequently dumped him. Men are stupid like this. Like I said, I've been quilty also. Look, guys, if you are ever so fortunate to be in the company of a women who truly loves you be careful about trying to win another race. Late for class? Late for the movie? Trying to work late to make a few extra bucks? Sad because LSU lost a game? Angry because things are not going your way? If these things concern you then you have your mind on the wrong prize. The prize is the girl! Focus your attention on her happiness! If you want to be happy in life yourself, try not to forget that! |

Many years ago I owned two dogs. They were the nicest animals and were loved by everyone. With these dogs even a stranger was welcome. Occasionally as I walked them around the neighborhood they would spot another dog and go bananas as they barked at the intruder. Their level of intensity was so high that their animal instinct would take over. Sometimes, "in the heat of battle" they would even go after each other. I've seen this behavior in humans too. In fact, I'm guilty myself. On a recect episode of "The Amazing Race" I watched 3 teams compete for first place. One of the teams was a boyfriend/girlfriend couple. All of the teams were exceptionally competitive in pursuit of the prize to be awarded to the first place team. |
